Mince masala

Boredom striked again. So this time I took Fara's and entered kitchen. The dinner was not yet cooked, so I learnt to cook plain rice (finally! :D) and minced meat curry!

Before I forget how I cooked it, I thought it would be sensible to save the recipe here for the "mince masala"! :) (Naming credit goes to Fara :P)


Minced meat - 500 g
Onion - 500 g medium diced
Tomato - 3 medium size and diced
Green chilli - 3
Ginger Garlic paste - 1 and 1/2 tsp
Corionder - finely chopped
Red chilli powder
Salt - to taste
Turmeric - 1/2 tsp
Oil- 3-4 tbsp


1.Heat oil in the cooker, add the onion and chillis (slice it from the middle half way across) and fry it until the onion turns pinkish-goldenish-transparent.(:D)
2.Saute the ginger garlic paste.
3.Put the turmeric,salt and red-chilli powder as required (depending on how spicy you'd like it) and mix it.
4. Add the tomatoes and cook some more.
5. Finally add the minced meat and mix it well.
6.Add finely chopped coriander.
7.Pour about 1-2 cups of water.
8. Close the lid and cook till pressure is released 3 times.
9. Switch of the stove. Open the lid once the pressure has reduced and simmer it on the stove for some more time.
10. Serve with hot paratas. (I like to have it with home cooked dosas as well!:))
